The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 128.02 points at 31,622.80 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 41.95 points to 9,870.85.

30-share BSE Sensex was down 320.96 points at 31,409.06 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 116.05 to 9,796.75.

The 30-share Sensex opened lower and fell further by 250.02 points, or 0.79 per cent, to 31,500.80 in late morning deals.

The 50-share Nifty of NSE fell below 9,850-level at 9,833.05, down by 79.75 points, or 0.80 per cent.

Shares of telecom, power, financials, IT, Teck, FMCG, capital goods led the losses amid weak Asian cues.
