Mumbai: Actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha underwent bypass surgery at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hopsital on Monday evening. The actor who has been ill for the past few weeks is still under observation and will be released in a weeks time. His doctor says he is "on road to a speedy recovery". Speaking to a daily, his wife Punam Sinha said, "He was admitted to the hospital after he complained of breathlessness which developed due to paint work that was going on at our residence. During the medical examination, it was found that there were some blockages, so on the advice of the doctor, we decided to rectify the problem. Mr Sinha is doing fine." "He is now well and on road to a speedy recovery. He thanks all his well-wishers for their unconditional love and support," added Ram Narain, COO Kokilaben Hospital. The veteran actor, 66, was admitted to the hospital in Mumbai on July 2. (With Agency Inputs)
