New York: ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star George Clooney has accepted a life membership at the Council on Foreign Relations.
According to the Daily Beast, Clooney’s role at the foreign-policy think tank will be to tackle US foreign policy issues along with Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, and Madeleine Albright.
The 49-year-old actor was nominated by New York Times columnist Nicolas Kristof and TV host Charlie Rose. “I’m honoured to have been nominated,” the New York Post quoted the blog as reporting Clooney as saying. “I look forward to participating in the work and programs of the Council on Foreign Relations. And I hear the initiation ritual is wild,” he added. ANI
