Ajmer/Jaipur: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who visited Ajmer Sharif today to untie a sacred thread after a 40-year-old `mannat` was fulfilled, said he prayed at the dargah for another wish to come true.
The 68-year-old actor, who is set to become a grandfather soon, paid homage at the dargah this afternoon amidst a huge crowd of about twenty thousand people. Returning from Ajmer, Bachchan said that he decided to go to the holy shrine after a long-wished prayer was addressed and his wish fulfilled. "Some 40 years back when I was trying to enter films, I visited this part of the country and the Dargah. I had so many emotions in mind and then I sought a wish which has come true. Today I sought another wish and I won`t disclose it," he said. "I observed a clear change in Ajmer today. People recognised me this time but it was not (the scene) 40 years back," Bachchan said. When asked if that was his wish (of name and fame), the Big B said, "May be!" Talking about his recently released movie `Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap`, he said that the film was made purely for entertainment purposes, not to give any message or moral. "We did not make the movie to give any message. We also did not try to prove that a 70-year old man can do a lot of things. It is simply for entertainment," he said. The mega star also said that he did not wish to retire now and wants to continue as long as his body supports. "I always feel that an artist should never be satisfied, because that kills his creativity. I always hope that there is something good and challenging for me tomorrow and I think its important for every artist to have a sense of challenge," he said. "If I think of retirement, it implies that I think I have done enough but I have not and I will continue as long as my body and appearance supports," he said. But the veteran actor said he was satisfied with his life and there was nothing he missed doing. When asked, he said that he would like to be called simply as `Dada` by his yet-to-be-born grandchild. During his visit to Ajmer, the Big B entered the Dargah from the Solah Khamba gate instead of the main entrance to avoid the crowd but the dargah was already packed with his fans. He offered a chaddar to the tomb of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and walked to Asthana Sharif (nearby tomb) with the basket of chaddar on his head. After paying his homage the actor left for Jaipur. PTI
