Washington: Mel Gibson has been praised by a judge for his probation progress after he completed twice the amount of counselling sessions required of him.
According to TMZ, the 55-year-old ‘Braveheart’ star struck a plea deal with Los Angeles prosecutors in March this year in a bid to stay out of jail after he was accused of attacking ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva during a heated argument last year. Under the terms of the agreement, Gibson pleaded no contest to simple misdemeanour battery and was sentenced to three years``’ probation, and was ordered to undergo 52 weeks of counselling and serve 16 hours of community service, Contactmusic reported. He has already completed his community service requirements and Gibson continued to impress Judge Stephanie Sautner during a progress report in court. ANI
