London, June 11: Jade Goody`s mother Jackiey Budden has said that she has put an end to her late daughter’s worries about her mum being alone after falling in love with a former soldier.
The 51-year-old, who lost her daughter aged 27 to cervical cancer on Mother’s Day this year, was previously reported to be besotted with 36-year-old Jason Cooper.
The pair reportedly met in Los Cristianos after Jackiey jetted out on a month-long break to come to terms with her personal tragedy.
Love-struck Jackiey decided to ditch Britain to be with her toyboy in Spanish island Tenerife.
And Jackiey is confident her daughter would have been by her side to support her decision.
“I know Jade would be 100 percent behind this. She was always scared I’d be alone — she doesn’t need to be scared now,” The Sun quoted her as saying.
Jackiey, who was a lesbian for 25 years, continued, “Tenerife was a new life for me. Now meeting Jason has opened the door to another new life.
“I know Jade would be as surprised as anyone I’ve found happiness with a man — but she always said, ‘Man or woman, I want you to be happy’.”
She added, “After Jade passed and there was the funeral, I had nothing left. I was on the edge. I knew I had to get away.
"Last time I was here it was with Jade and it felt the right place to come. When I arrived I was really poorly, my weight was down to 6½st and I was white as a sheet.
"I’d fulfilled all Jade’s final wishes, so I got an open ticket here and now I want to stay.”
