Akshay Kumar arrested for 'unbuttoning act', released later on bail

After combating and defending his ‘obscene unbuttoning act’ at the Lakme Fashion Week, bashed by the moral brigade of the country, Akshay Kumar lived up to his moral obligation as he dutifully appeared at the Vakola Police Station for his awaiting arrest. The macho hunk, who raised many eyebrows with his abashed unbuttoning act at the Lakme Fashion Week with wife Twinkle in tow, is busy paying the price for the naughty act.

Mumbai, May 18: After combating and defending his ‘obscene unbuttoning act’ at the Lakme Fashion Week, bashed by the moral brigade of the country, Akshay Kumar lived up to his moral obligation as he dutifully appeared at the Vakola Police Station for his awaiting arrest. The daredevil actor has a rare fight up his arm this time round. The macho hunk, who raised many eyebrows with his abashed unbuttoning act at the Lakme Fashion Week with wife Twinkle in tow, is busy paying the price for the naughty act done in zest and haste. The actor had initially brushed aside the obscenity complaint filed with the Vakola police by a citizen, saying, “It was nothing. Last year, too, a girl opened one button on my jeans as part of an endorsement because the campaign signified freedom. This time it was my wife. It was not a last-minute improvisation on the ramp. It was all part of the act. In a country hit by poverty and economic recession, someone makes an issue about my wife unbuttoning my jeans! They should appreciate the fact that I asked Twinkle rather than a stranger." And it’s not just Akshay who is in the line of fire; his better half Twinkle gives him company here too. Apparently, the publicity stunt that saw Akshay thrusting his pelvis for wife Twinkle to unbutton his jeans button at the much publicised fashion event stirred such a controversy that a joint complaint against the couple was filed. Though Twinkle was arrested earlier and subsequently released on bail, Akshay’s arrest was awaited as he was busy shooting for a TV show in South Africa. Nevertheless, the actor though arrested was after much deliberation released on bail.
