New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked an NGO to file a separate plea on the expose alleging collusion between the prosecutor and one of the accused in the 2G scam, saying that "contradictory" reports have emerged on it.

"Newspapers' reports are contradictory and you (Centre for Public Interest Litigation) move an application," a bench of justices G S Singhvi and K S Radhakrishnan said.

The court's remark came when advocate Prashant Bhushan, appearing for CPIL, raised the issue of alleged collusion between CBI's public prosecutor A K Singh and Sanjay Chandra, managing director of Unitech, and one of the accused in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case.

"The CBI says that some CDs have been sent for forensic examinations, but, things are not clear. Moreover, it (expose) raised a serious issue," Bhushan said.

On being asked by the bench, he said that he would file an application.

The purported conversation between Singh and Chandra dealt with the prosecution strategies to weaken the case against the Unitech MD.

The CPIL was one of the PIL petitioners on whose plea the Supreme Court had monitored the probe into the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
