Kim Kardashian on Oz immigration ‘watch list’ for breaching visa rules

Melbourne: Kim Kardashian, who launched her range of handbags in Australia last month, has been placed on an official Australian immigration department watch list as she never applied for the appropriate visa with working conditions.
The 31-year-old TV personality pretended to be a tourist on her Australian visit, during which she made in-store appearances, and her stay was made even more prominent because she had split with husband Kris Humphries. The launch in Sydney attracted worldwide headlines and coverage and did not go unnoticed at the Immigration Department. A subsequent investigation found two earlier visits, one in 2007 and another last year, were also for business purposes. The Immigration Department declined to comment on the socialite directly, but issued a read-between-the-lines statement: “If people are undertaking work in Australia, they need to be on an appropriate visa with work conditions attached to it,” the Herald Sun quoted the statement as saying.
