Mumbai: Akshay Kumar, who had been honing his DJ-ing skills to play songs at a promotional event for ‘Action Replayy’ here was cancelled at the last minute due to Ayodhya-Babri Masjid verdict. Buzz has it that Akshay was all set to play famous retro numbers from the 70’s, considering ‘Action Replayy’ is based in that era. Talking to a news daily, a source said, “The event was to happen at a popular nightclub in Colaba. However, Vipul Shah and Akshay decided against it; it would not have been an ideal date for the event. The worst part is that Akshay is flying out of town for a trip to Dubai, for a vacation with family soon. The event can’t happen later either because of the actor’s date problems.” When contacted, director Vipul Shah said, “I think Babri Masjid is a very important issue for our country and it needs to be respected in the right way. My film is still 35 days away from release and events can happen at a later date. It is going to be a landmark judgment in Indian judicial history and I too would like to know what is happening. I am praying that whatever might be the decision, we as Indians should finally get over religion, caste and creed barriers and make democracy more powerful.”
