Gul Panag to run in Goa River Marathon

Panaji: Bollywood actress Gul Panag will run in the annual `Goa River Marathon` to be held on December 11 in the port town of Vasco.

"Gul Panag who ran in the race last year has confirmed her participation in this year`s run too," said Rakesh Unny, secretary of Vasco Sports Club, which has organised the event. Participants from nine countries including Kenya, US, France and Japan will participate in the race. Unny said the participants will be a mix of professional and amateur runners. Starting from Baina beach, the runners will pass by the riverfront past the picturesque St Jacinto Island before coming back to the beach, he said. Events such as half marathon, fun walk run and corporate relay run will also be held during the day. Unny said proceeds of the event will be donated to two charities - New Dawn Ashadeep Special School and COOJ mental health foundation, both located in the port town. PTI
