Britney’s lawyers claim she’s not ‘legally competent’ to testify in perfume case

Washington: Britney Spears` lawyers are putting in efforts to dissuade her from making a statement in a perfume lawsuit, as they claim that she is not legally competent to give sworn testimony.

Brand Sense Partners are suing Spears for 10 million dollars claiming she betrayed them by trying to cut them out of a lucrative project with Elizabeth Arden despite having a deal with the company, reports a website. Though, Brand Sense wanted to take Spears’ deposition, her lawyers have so far turned the request down on grounds that she has been under a conservatorship and can’t be compelled to testify without the permission of the conservatorship`s attorneys. However, as there has been no assurance of a positive response from the attorneys for the conservatorship, Brand has asked the judge in the perfume case to order Spears to sit for the deposition. ANI
