Mumbai: After sweating out for hours in the gym to get a leaner look for his home production, ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’, Farhan Akhtar is back to piling on calories again. Switching his body weight according to the demand of the character, the actor is busy pumping iron and hogging on his favourite food to regain his lost fat.
Confirming the story a source told a news daily, "In the first half of the film, Farhan plays a loveable loser - a loner who doesn`t have a great body. So he lost a lot of weight for the first schedule. He put himself on a diet and stopped working out. He`s one of those people who start losing weight when they stop working out. Finally, when he came on the sets, people were shocked to see how much weight he had lost. Farhan lost almost 12-15 kg and came down to 63 kg when he started shooting."
However, all this changed during the second half of the film. The second act of the flick sees Farhan as a changed man as a result he now has to sport a muscular and fit physique.
"We saw a drastic change in him when he had to now play a good-looking guy with a fit, muscular body. Farhan also had to regain the weight he had lost, so he started gymming again. He also took up yoga with Manish Tiwari, who`d train him for an hour daily. He`s almost back to his original weight of 80 kg now", adds the source.
And the actor is sure not leaving any stone unturned to sport a macho look. Apart from taking yoga lessons the actor is also working out in the gym.
"Initially, I had lost a lot of weight and came down to 63 kg. I lose weight when I stop exercising so I did that and followed a certain diet. My character in KCK doesn`t have a muscular body initially. When I had to gain weight again I joined Manish`s power yoga. But I had to stop after a month as it was too taxing on my body. I need a break of a couple of months and then I will start power yoga again,” adds Farhan.
