Indian Bank bags Golden Peacock award

Indian Bank has been conferred the Golden Peacock award 2011 for its efforts in promoting Self Help Groups (SHGs).

New Delhi: Indian Bank has been conferred the Golden Peacock award 2011 for its efforts in promoting Self Help Groups (SHGs).
     
The Golden Peacock Innovative Product/Service award was conferred on Indian Bank in recognition of its contribution to promotion of SHGs by way of developing innovative products and services, the bank said in a statement.
     
The services include specialised exclusive branches for microfinance (Microsate), exclusive outfit for SHGs (Micro Credit Kendras), educational loans (SHG-Vidya Shoba) to school going wards of SHG members, housing loans (SHG-Grihalakshmi) and consumer loan (Gramin Mahila Sowbhagya) scheme, it said.
     
The award was received by Indian Bank Chairman and Managing Director T M Bhasin at a function in Bengaluru, it added.
