London: After months of denial, `Slumdog Millionaire` couple Dev Patel and Freida Pinto finally made their romance public, when they stepped out as a couple during an out-door screening of their Oscar winning film here. The 19-year-old NRI and the Mumbai native who had met and fell in love while shooting for the Danny Boyle film have never made a public appearance together after the awards season and fans were thrilled to see the two together, reported Daily Mail online.
The couple have been coy about their burgeoning romance and Patel had grabbed headlines when he ran away from his lady love during a dinner date to avoid being photographed together.
Pinto, 24, who was named in Vogue`s `Best Dressed` list looked elegant in a black dress and metallic accessories while Patel looked sharp in a Dolce and Gabbana grey blazer, jeans and white shirt.
Rumours surrounding the pair have swirled since they were catapulted to fame with their debut film `Slumdog Millionaire` which won 8 Oscars and 7 Golden Globes among multiple other awards.
At first, they insisted they were "just good friends" but the cover was quickly blown by co-star Anil Kapoor who revealed, "When I meet them, I feel there is something happening."
Not long afterwards, Pinto`s former fiance, Rohan Antao, blamed Patel for the breakdown of their relationship.
