New Delhi: The country's top six national commodity bourses will open 'Muhurat trading' session for two hours on Diwali, according to the regulator Forward Markets Commission (FMC).
The commodity bourses -- MCX, NCDEX, NMCE, ACE, ICEX and UCEX -- are allowed to fix the Muhurat trading session on November 3 (Sunday) from 6 pm to 8 pm in all commodities, FMC said in a circular.
The exchanges are directed to inform brokers and traders in this regard, it said.
The pre-open session will start from 5.30 pm on the day of Diwali and client code modification would be allowed between 8 and 8.15 pm, the exchanges said separately.
The trading time will remain same for domestic-traded commodities and for global commodities like bullion, metals, crude, polymers and carbon credits, they added.
Also, FMC has allowed exchanges to extend evening trade timings from the existing 11.30 pm to 11.55 pm from November 4, 2013, to March 8, 2014, due to US daylight saving time.
The time has been extended for trading in those commodities that have global reference, it added.
The national bourses had a business turnover of Rs 82,714 crore in the first fortnight of October.
