Washington: Amy Winehouse’s ashes will be mixed with those of her beloved grandmother, Cynthia, after her funeral.
The ‘Back to Black’ singer is due to be cremated in accordance with Jewish custom, and her family will fulfil her wish that her ashes be put with those of her grandmother, who died in 2006 from lung cancer. The funeral is thought to be taking place at Golders Green Crematorium in north London. “We all hope Amy can finally find some peace,” Contact music quoted a family friend as saying. Winehouse idolised her grandmother, a jazz singer who dated saxophone player Ronnie Scott, and the tattoo of a woman in a red shirt on the top of her right arm was said to depict her. ANI
