Washington: Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster is proud of her figure after having lost weight since giving birth to her second son Aiden.
The 40-year-old model has slimmed down from a size 16 to a 10 since having her second son 10 months ago and is delighted with her current figure.
“Now I’m proud to say, ‘I’m 40, I’ve had two children and I’m still taking pride in keeping fit and healthy,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Closer magazine.
“But I’m not as self-conscious as I used to be.
“There’s less pressure to look good as you get older. It’s just about being confident.
The blonde beauty feels “lucky” that she has had the support of Rod during her quest to get back in shape and she doesn’t feel guilty about occasionally treating herself.
“I’m lucky that I have a supportive partner who loves me when I’m bigger as well as slim.
“If I’m out with the kids, I might have a burger and chips, or a roast on Sunday.”
Though she is pleased with her weight loss, the singer’s wife did not rush to get back into shape, preferring to wait until she had stopped feeding breastfeeding Aiden when he was seven months old.
“When I first had Aiden, I didn’t care about anything other than feeding him.
“Breastfeeding does help your stomach snap back into shape but there are always some extra pounds that are harder to shift,” she added.
