London: Cheryl Cole will bring in the New Year with a romantic skiing holiday with boyfriend Derek Hough.
The `Fight For This Love` hitmaker is heading to the Rocky Mountains in north-west America where her dancer beau has booked a private villa in a luxury hotel resort, reported Mirror online.
The 27-year-old singer is desperate to toast the end of her "annus horribilis", during which she divorced footballer Ashley Cole and almost died from malaria.
Hough, 25, is delighted she will be with him because he was "devastated" that they were apart for Christmas Day.
While Cole headed to her native north-east to spend time with her mum Joan, 50, her older sister Gillian, 31, and her three children, Hough was with his family in the US.
But the pair did see each other yesterday, talking for nearly an hour on the video-calls internet site Skype.
"Derek and Cheryl wished each other Merry Christmas and spoke excitedly about last-minute details of their holiday in the Rockies. Derek wanted to be with Cheryl on Christmas Day and he was gutted and heartbroken she wasn`t able to make it. So sharing a call on Skype was the next best thing. Derek is just really looking forward to their holiday now," said a
source.
"He`s booked an amazing hotel where they will have lots of privacy and some time to relax. Derek is excellent on the slopes and he can`t wait to teach Cheryl a few moves," the source added.
