Barbara Mori and Anurag Basu are ‘soul buddies’

News has it that both Barbara Mori and Anurag Basu are cancer survivors. If Barbara survived cancer, Anurag battled leukaemia. Recently, while talking to a news daily, Anurag spoke at length about his strong bond with Barbara, saying, "I had no idea Barbara had fought and conquered the same illness as me. We started chatting up on location and grew really fond of one another. It was then that Barbara told me about her illness and how she fought it." It was Barbara, who first spoke about her illness to Anurag and later, Anurag too narrated his fight with leukaemia. "From that point we became soul buddies," said an emotional Anurag. "I feel both Barbara and I have emerged stronger human beings after fighting our illnesses. It definitely makes you understand the world around you better. My best work came after my illness. That can`t be a coincidence. When you fight death you understand life better. I`m sure it`s true for Barbara as well," Anurag said.
