London: Beyonce, who recently gave birth to daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, has defended her decision to employ extra security personnel at the hospital where she gave birth, insisting she needed added protection for the sake of her daughter.
The superstar singer and her husband Jay-Z welcomed their first child, at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City on 7 January. However, other parents at the maternity unit alleged that the singer’s bodyguards caused problems by refusing access to other patients and their families. According to Star magazine, Beyonce has for the first time spoken about the whole episode, insisting she was just trying to ensure that her baby was kept safe, the Daily Express reported. “Everybody who we wanted to see her saw her. Security was very tight, but not just for the sake of it, it was for the security of our daughter,” she said. ANI
