London: Hollywood actor Hugh Grant has made a "generous donation" for the refurbishment of a Scottish museum.
The `Notting Hill` star has donated an undisclosed sum to help the Highlander`s Museum in Fort George, to reach closer to their 3 million pound target for the renovation, reported a website.
"Hugh Grant donated a lot of money. It was a very generous donation which we are most thankful for.
"We`ve been lucky - all our funding applications have been successful. It`s a good project and people are getting behind it," said Development director Peter Guthrie.
The 50-year-old actor`s father Captain James Murray Grant served in the Seaforth Highlanders, while his grandfather was a commander at Fort George after World War II.
According to reports the museum bosses have raised more than 2.5 million pounds so far.
The restoration work, which will include the building of a heritage centre, is expected to take two years when it begins next summer.
