‘Michael Jackson was too ill to perform’ testifies Kenny Ortega

Washington: Producer/director Kenny Ortega, the first witness for the “manslaughter” trial of Michael Jackson’s personal medic has testified that he was very concerned about Michael’s health during his ‘This Is It’ comeback concert tour.

The choreographer-turned-moviemaker was earlier announced as the first witness for the case, in which Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael’s physician for his 2009 London tour, had been accused of giving a fatal dose of anaesthetic propofol to the late King of Pop. Ortega, 61, revealed on the opening day of the trial that he was worried about the late King of Pop’s health and was not sure whether he could do a series of 50 shows. He told the jurors that a week before his death in June 2009, the singer showed up too ill to dance during rehearsals, so the choreographer wrote an email to a concert promoter, addressing his concerns about the pop legend’s health issues, Contactmusic reported. The choreographer then testified that when he approached Dr. Murray, he was sternly told to leave Michael’s medical affairs to the experts. ANI
