London, July 05: Singer Nicole Scherzinger, who is dating Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton, says she is a very shy person but is daring only while performing."I`m very shy, but when I get on stage a whole other person comes out. The connection with the audience gives me this energy and I just come alive," dailymail.co.uk quoted Nicole as saying.

"But, when I was growing up, I was unbelievably awkward and shy and conservative. It`s funny, people hear the music and watch me perform, and think I`m very intimidating, but if they were to meet me they would see that, underneath it all, I`m still that shy girl," she said. IANS
