London, June 07: Britney Spears has settled a lawsuit brought against her by a former manager by paying USD 193,000 as part of the legal settlement. Contactmusic.com reports that Spears was sued by Florida-based Johnny Wright, who she worked with from 1999 until 2003, over claims the singer breached a contract by failing to pay him between 2006 and 2008.
According to a newspaper, the case was settled in court Friday although terms of the financial agreement were not disclosed. Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz approved the settlement and also signed off $193,000 in legal fees to be paid by the singer, the majority going to the attorneys who handed the Wright case. Spears was placed in a court-ordered conservatorship last year which handed her father, Jamie, control over her legal and business affairs. IANS
