Michael Douglas in a legal row with ex-wife

New York: Hollywood star Michael Douglas` ex-wife Diandra Luker is filing an appeal, claiming half of the actor`s earnings, after a New York court refused to hear her case.
Luker has claimed that her divorce gave her the right over half of the earnings of her former husband from projects that he had worked on while they were together or any possible earnings from his old films. In keeping with that, she is demanding a fifty per cent share of the earnings of Douglas from the Oliver Stone directed movie `Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps`, the first instalment to which was made while she and Douglas were still married, reported New York Post. But while a Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Matthew Cooper dismissed the case, citing that it cannot be heard in New York, Luker is determined to pursue it. "We respectfully disagree with the decision, and intend to appeal. Both parties are residents of New York, and the case should be decided here," said her lawyer Nancy Chemtob. The couple ended their twenty three-year-old marriage in 2000. Luker has already received USD 6.3 million from her Oscar winner husband under her divorce deal. Douglas, who is battling throat cancer, is currently married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones. PTI
