Washington: Seems like Rob Lowe is mulling a political career after he revealed that he would like to serve his country at some point of his life.
The 47-year-old Hollywood actor, who is known for playing White House staffer, Sam Seaborn in political drama, ‘The West Wing’, was inspired by the TV show to run for public office.
“People have started to ask me about that and I do have an interest in service. I love my country, and at some point in my life, I would like to serve,” Contactmusic quoted Lowe as saying during a question and answer session at the Hay Festival in Wales. My experience of politicians is that people who serve are doing it for the right reasons. There are, however, idiots in both parties (Democrats and Republicans),”he added. Lowe also recounted a memorable meeting with former US President Bill Clinton at the White House``s famous Oval Office. “I remember being in the Oval Office with the then President, Bill Clinton, and Aaron Sorkin (West Wing creator/writer). We started chatting and before I knew it Bill was pitching us plot lines and story ideas,” the actor said. ANI
