RIM asked to pay $147.2 mn in wireless patent lawsuit
San Francisco: Research in Motion Ltd has been asked by a northern California jury to pay USD 147.2 million in patent litigation over a remote management system for wireless devices, according a news wire on Saturday.
The verdict makes RIM’s case all the more worse in the backdrop of its stock falling more than 70 percent in the past one year owing to the market supremacy dominated by Apple's iPhone and Google Inc's Android software.
RIM spokeswoman Crystal Roberts said the company has pending legal motions that could overturn the verdict.
