London: Elvis Presley was suffering from over a dozen serious disorders when he passed away at the age of 42 in 1977, his doctor has disclosed. According to Dr George Nichopoulos, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll had a swollen colon, enlarged heart and liver, irritable bowel syndrome, gout, hepatitis, migraine, diabetes, asthma, kidney disease, arthritis and stomach ulcers, reports a news daily.
Nichopoulos, 83, writes in a new book that Presley’s body just “gave out”. The doc, known as “Dr Nick”, also says he wrote nearly 10,000 prescriptions the year Presley died and was struck off on 14 counts of over-supplying drugs to the late star. ANI
