Los Angeles: ``Twilight`` stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been enjoying a mysterious getaway on an island off the south coast of England where they brought in the New Year quietly.
The couple, who have never admitted their romance in public, were spotted by a young fan on New Year`s Eve in Ventnor, a seaside resort on the Isle of Wight, 80 miles south of Pattinson`s family home in west London.
The `New Moon` co-stars happily posed for photos with the fan outside a grocery store and then vanished quickly, People magazine reported. After the pics appeared on a local blog, word spread soon and fans scoured the island looking for the the British actor and his American girlfriend.
"All the young girls have been trying to find him. They have been out on a hunt. It`s literally a mystery," said store manager Jez Harmer.
