New Delhi: Google CEO Sundar Pichai will be addressing students at the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, on Thursday.

The Google CEO, who made his maiden visit to the country Wednesday after taking over the helm of the leading Internet search giant, said India was one of the most important market for the company.

Reports say that Pichai will also host an open event with students from across India at the Delhi University.

According to The Economic Times, Pichai will be addressing and interacting with students at the Shri Ram College of Commerce during the session 'Ask Sundar'.

"We had invited Pichai and after his meeting with the PM, he will be coming to address our students," ET quoted a source close to the college as saying.

During the Google event on Wednesday, Pichai said Google would invest more in India, step up hiring and build a new campus in Hyderabad.

The also said the company will provide affordable Internet access to millions in a nation that is US-based firm's most important untapped market for adding users.

The firm's India-born chief executive Sunder Pichai announced plans to provide Internet connectivity to 100 railway stations across the country by next year.

Pichai met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and IT & Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today and is scheduled to meet PM Modi and President Mukherjee on Thursday.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will also be visiting India later this meeting and addressing budding entrepreneurs at Hyderabad.

In October, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook has also visited India and addressed his first Townhall here at the IIT Delhi.
