Twitter plans to allow people post links or pictures without eating into the 140-character limit set for posts.

Twitter to stop counting photos and links in 140 character limit within two weeks

New Delhi: Soon, you would not have to count photos and links in the 140-character limit while posting tweets on Twitter.

Bloomberg news reported, the change could happen as early as by May end. Currently, users on Twitter have to consider links or pictures in mind while framing a tweet which has a 140-character limit.

There were reports in January that Twitter may allow tweets longer than the traditional 140 character limit, perhaps to as many as 10,000 characters!

The relaxation in the tweet limit would definitely recharge growth, as well as ad sales for the company. With increase in effective character count, more and more advertisers would be able to add more media to their posts, and show creativity in marketing campaigns.
