Delhi's per capita income goes up, diesel consumption comes down: Report

New Delhi: The national capital of India witnessed a 10 per cent growth in per capita income for the year 2016-17, stated a new report released by the Delhi government.

“The per capita income of Delhi is estimated at Rs. 3,03,073/- for the year 2016-2017 and it has increased by 10.76% from 2015-16, as compared to 9.7% at national level,” said Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia while releasing the Delhi Statistical Hand Book 2017.

According to the book report,

The minimum rates of monthly wages have increased from Rs 9568 in April 2016 to Rs 13,350 in April 2017 for unskilled category.

Monthly wages of semi-skilled workers was up to Rs 14,698 from last year's Rs 10,582 while for that of skilled category of workers, the monthly wages went up to Rs 16,182 from last year's Rs 11,622.

Meanwhile, the consumption of diesel in Delhi has decreased from 15,08,000 Metric Tons in 2015-16 to 12,67,000 Metric Tons in 2016-17.

On the other hand, consumption of petrol also marginally increased from 9,02,000 Metric Tons to 9,06,000 Metric Tons during the same period.
