Each Mantra in Hinduism has a distinct significance. They have healing powers and the capacity to help us overcome fear, improve confidence, attract wealth, heal from illness etc.

On Wednesday, known as Budhwar in Hindi, one can chant the Budh Gayatri Mantra.

Budh Gayatri Mantra:

ॐ गजध्वजाय विद्महे

सुख हस्ताय धीमहि

तन्नो बुधः प्रचोदयात् 

Om Gajadhwajaaya vidmahae,

Sukha hastaaya dheemahi

Tanno budha prachodayaat |

Meaning:

OM, I pray to the one with the symbol of an elephant on his flag

The one who grants happiness and intelligence

I would like Budha to enlighten me.

Who or what is Budh?

Budh is one of the Navgraha or the nine planets in Hindu astrology. Budh is associated with education, sciences, intelligence, wisdom and mathematics.

How and when to chant this mantra?

First understand what the mantra means and then chant it eleven times in the morning after taking bath and during sunset on Wednesdays.
