London: Bosses of Britain`s biggest panto are planning to produce `Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs` without the dwarfs.
The officials in charge at the Birmingham Hippodrome, were accused of "political correctness gone mad" on Monday, the Mirror reported. A talent agency that provides dwarfs for shows said it was depriving at least seven of its clients the chance of work this winter. The theatre has confirmed the departure from tradition, insisting that the production will feature "the magnificent seven as you have never seen them before". Meanwhile, Peter Burroughs, director of Willow Management, which provides actors to play dwarfs, slammed the theatre`s decision, saying that the "disgraceful" decision taken by them could be a huge disappointment for hundreds of youngsters. The show will star fashion guru Gok Wan, actress Stephanie Beacham and comic Gary Wilmot. But some traditionalists suspect the organisers may have bowed to pressure. ANI
