Academy urged to recognise Serkis work

Actor James Franco has urged the voters of Academy Awards to seriously consider his `Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes` co-star Andy Serkis for a best actor prize.

London: Actor James Franco has urged the voters of Academy Awards to seriously consider his `Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes` co-star Andy Serkis for a best actor prize.
Franco feels the work Serkis is doing with motion capture animation is amazing and his pioneering work will revolutionise Hollywood. The British actor shot to fame after playing creepy Gollum in the "Lord of The Rings" trilogy.
"To me, it seems like such a shame that Andy doesn`t get recognised now because this is the moment when he`s really broken through... He`s doing it (motion picture) better than anyone else on the planet... What he does is real acting," contactmusic.com quoted Franco, 33, as saying. IANS
