Mumbai: Whoever thought that Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan had become best of friends will have to wait a little while longer before it becomes a reality.
Recently a tabloid had reported that SRK and wife Gauri had invited Akshay and his wife Twinkle to their residence ‘Mannat’ for a private screening of Akki’s latest release ‘Rowdy Rathore’. The report stated that the two couples bonded over the film screening and even hinted that a new friendship was in the offing in B-Town.
But, it seems the report was false. In fact, Akshay and Tina never went to watch the film at Khan residence.
A source close to the couple said that when Akshay and his wife came to hear about it, they were a bit upset.
Another source however mentioned that the couple had a good laugh about it. Speaking to a daily, the source said, "When the story came out, Akshay and Twinkle were shocked! Akshay even told his wife jokingly that he perhaps had forgotten when they went so could she remind me the exact day? She said she had no clue... Then they realised maybe ‘Rowdy Rathore’ producer Shabina Khan who is a good friend of Gauri`s had perhaps organised a screening specially for Gauri and SRK at Mannat. Shah Rukh and Gauri are known to have their own private movie trials with their family and close friends there often."
"Though initially Akshay and Twinkle were a little upset as the story was completely untrue about their going to Mannat but later the couple had a good laugh about it and decided to ignore the matter,” added the source.
We all saw Akshay and SRk bonding at an IPL match recently. In fact, SRK even went and celebrated his team’s win at Prabhu Deva’s residence in Chennai where AKshay and Sonakshi were also partying. While both actors seem to be warming up to each other, their wives may not be ready to be friends yet. Both Gauri and Twinkle are known to headstrong and have their respective group of friends.
So there, Kumar and Khan may be pally, but calling them friends may not be that great an idea just yet.
