Al Pacino honoured by actors` organisation

London: Veteran Hollywood actor Al Pacino has been honoured for his career achievements at a star-studded ceremony.
The 71-year-old star received the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award from The Actors Fund, which benefits members of the performing arts community. Pacino was handed the honour during a glitzy ceremony at the New York Marriott Marquis hotel in Manhattan and admitted he was delighted to receive the prize. "I`m honoured to receive the Lee Strasberg Artistic Achievement Award from The Actors Fund. From my decades of work in theatre and film, I know firsthand the importance of our community giving back to support those in need. "Actors, musicians, directors, crew members and so many others - they are all a part of our community. And when they need a helping hand, we know The Actors Fund will be there," the `Godfather` star said. `Cheers` and `Frasier` star Bebe Neuwirth was also feted at the event, receiving The Actors Fund Medal of Honor, while a number of famous faces co-chaired the ceremony, including Alec Baldwin and Annette Bening.
