Amitabh Bachchan condoles Dey`s death

Amitabh Bachchan condoled the death of senior crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey, saying said he condemns the suspected reasons behind the broad daylight murder - bringing forth issues "few people don`t like".

New Delhi: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan Monday condoled the death of senior crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey, saying said he condemns the suspected reasons behind the broad daylight murder - bringing forth issues "few people don`t like".
"I have heard that the journalist was shot dead, and such news is not good. To attack a journalist or attacking any person is not good," Amitabh told reporters while he was here to promote his issue-based movie `Aarakshan`. "We have heard that the journalist has been shot dead because he wanted to bring forth issues that few people didn`t like. It`s like people watch any of our performances and if they don`t like it, they kill us. So we oppose this, and we are against this," he added. Dey, who killed Saturday by four unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants, was Mid-Day`s special investigations editor. Amitabh, 68, was shocked at the incident, and says people must fight against violence. "Violence and crime happens everywhere...I don`t think it happens less or more in any city. But wherever it happens...we should try and stop it." IANS
