Amitabh sends food to ‘Aashirwad’; Ash-Abhi visit Dimple

Mumbai: Ever since superstar Rajesh Khanna passed away, friends and close family have been rallying around Khanna’s family and giving them all the support in this difficult time. The Bachchans, who are known to be close to Dimple Kapadia and her daughters Twinkle and Rinke, have been providing them with all the support. On Saturday, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan were seen leaving ‘Aashirwad’ after meeting the superstar’s family. The Bachchans have also being sending food to Khanna’s residence as according to Hindu customs, the family of the dead is not allowed to cook till the 13th day. Big B on his blog wrote, “The rituals are over. Food from our house has been sent to Dimple, his wife, at his house Aashirwad, where she plans to stay till the terahvein, the 13th day is over.” Amitabh and Abhishek were one of the first few to visit ‘Aashirwad’ on 18 July, when the news of Kaka’s demise broke out. Amitabh later also wrote on his blog about his first encounter with Khanna on the sets of ‘Anand’. The father-son duo also braved the Mumbai traffic on the day of Khanna’s funeral. Seeing the amount of traffic on road, the two decided to walk a little stretch to the crematorium where Kaka’s last rites were being held. Needless to say the crowd went berserk seeing their favourite actor walking on the streets of Mumbai. Chaos and lathi charge ensued and Big B later wrote on twitter,” The funeral of Rajesh Khanna was poignant and crowded .. the crowds were in throngs,with scant respect for the situation .. pity !!(sic)”
