Ariel Winter`s mother loses custody bid

Los Angeles: `Modern Family` star Ariel Winter`s estranged mother has lost her latest attempt to get custody of her daughter.

The 15-year-old actress is currently in the care of her 34-year-old sister Shanelle Grey after being removed from her mother Chrisoula `Chrystal` Workman`s care in October amid allegations of abuse, reported TMZ online. "Chrystal filed documents recently asking to get her daughter back - after the court stripped her of custody last year -- but the judge in the case refused ... Extending the temporary guardianship of Ariel`s older sister Shanelle instead," a source said. Ariel was furious after her mother sent her flowers recently and fired off an angry text message to her brother Jimmy Workman. Ariel previously said she has never been happier and feels like a normal teenager since moving in with her sister. "My life is definitely more normal -- and that`ll help me grow up like I`m supposed to. Sunday we have family dinner. It`s just a different experience for me because I have more of a family life. I`m really happy. "My sister is the most amazing woman I`ve ever met in my life. If I could be half the woman she is ... She`s kind of who I want to be like," she said. PTI
