Sarajevo: Spanish actress Penelope Cruz will be accompanied by her husband Javier Bardem and the couple`s infant son during her stay in Sarajevo to film the movie "Venuto al mondo".
The celebrity couple and their son are staying at the luxurious Bosmal City Center residential complex, around which heavy security has been deployed to protect the privacy and safety of the Oscar-winning stars, Avaz newspaper said.
Cruz and Bardem were seen Wednesday afternoon sipping coffee on the terrace of a hotel in the old section of Sarajevo surrounded by numerous bodyguards who prevented any attempt by other people to approach the area.
The media reported Thursday that the film`s first scene will be shot in the neighbourhood of Butmir, near the tunnel that was dug during the 1992-95 Bosnian war and which was the only physical connection with the outside world during the siege of the city.
In the film, which is being directed by Italy`s Sergio Castellitto, Cruz will play the role of Gemma, a single mother who accompanies her teenage son to modern-day Sarajevo, the birthplace of his father, who died during the war.
