Bipasha Basu detained for evading custom duty

Mumbai: Bong bombshell Bipasha Basu was detained at Mumbai International Airport and immediately released after paying Rs. 12, 000 in taxes on Thursday. Apparently, Bipasha was travelling from London to Mumbai. However, at Mumbai airport, when the actress walked through the green channel and her luggage was scanned, she was found with goods above the permissible limits, for which she was duly interrogated and had to pay taxes. Interestingly, Bipasha went overboard with her shopping and had no clue that she had to pay taxes. Talking to a news channel, Bipasha said, “I was asked to make an inventory of things and had to pay a tax of Rs 12,000. I had to pay for extra shopping expenditure. It was a routine check. I am clear now.” Few days back, Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba was detained by Mumbai customs for carrying undeclared jewellery of Rs. 50 lakh.
