Birthday wishes for Manisha Koirala!

Bollywood beautiful actress Manisha Koirala turns 45 today. The UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador and social activist ruled the Box Office window for the longest in 90s. Manisha kicked off her acting career in 1989 with a Nepalese film 'Pheri Bhetaula'. However, it was in 1991 that she entered the world of Bollywood with 'Saudagar'. The film went on to become a superhit and Manisha was welcomed with open arms.

Manisha kicked off her acting career in 1989 with a Nepalese film 'Pheri Bhetaula'. However, it was in 1991 that she entered the world of Bollywood with 'Saudagar'. The film went on to become a superhit and Manisha was welcomed with open arms.

Born in the politically active family of Kathmandu, Nepal—Manisha is the daughter of politician Prakash Koirala and Sushma Koirala. Her grandfather Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was the Prime Minister of Nepal during the late 1950s-early 1960s, as well as two of her great-uncles, Girija Prasad Koirala and Susma Prasad Koirala.

In her golden phase, she did several big budget films such as '1942: A Love Story' (1994), 'Agni Sakshi' (1996) and 'Gupt' (1997). Manisha stole many hearts with her impeccable acting prowess in films such as 'Bombay', 'Akele Hum Akele Tum', 'Khamoshi: The Musical', 'Dil Se..' and 'Company'. The talented actress has won the Filmfare Critics' Award thrice and has received four nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress so far.
