Emily Blunt wants to go beyond acting

London: Actress Emily Blunt says she would love to be known for something else too, apart from her stardom.

The 31-year-old told British newspaper The Times that she has a work ethic that makes her well-suited to the entertainment sphere, but insists she'd love to broaden her skillset, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

When it was suggested she's good at stardom, Blunt replied: “God, I'd like to be good at other stuff, but I know what you mean. Some people are crap at it. And I think I am a good worker.

“But what I think is that I really love this job, and I'm kind of in love with it, even though it's not everything that I am.”

While Blunt is good at acting in front of a camera, she hasn't always been such a confident public speaker, having suffered with a stutter as a child.

“As a kid I just stopped talking. It got very bad. I listened a lot because that's all I did. Really. And it's not meant to be a sob story, it was just the reality. Which was that I felt embarrassed to speak in front of people,” she added.

Fortunately, she managed to overcome her speech impediment when she discovered her love towards acting.

The ‘Into The Woods’ star said: “I did speak fluently for the first time when I did a play in school, aged nine.”
