Los Angeles: Former `Desperate Housewives` star Eva Longoria has been honoured at the biennial Medal of Arts Awards in home state of Texas.
The 37-year-old actress and her former co-star from the hit TV show Ricardo Chavira, who played her onscreen husband Carlos, were among the 12 Texans celebrated at the 2013 gala in Austin, reported E! online. The ceremony recognises homegrown talents, who have excelled in the arts, and previous honourees include Tommy Lee Jones and Willie Nelson. Longoria took to Twitter to share a snap of herself holding up her medal. "Me... At the Texas Medal of Arts awards! So proud to be a Texan! Thank you," she posted. PTI
