Venice: The world awaits the grand wedding of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin. But, not many know that this heartthrob was once married before.

The Academy Award winner is somewhat known in Hollywood for his flirtatious image too (i.e. apart from his movies and smashing good looks). Long long time ago the actor was married to actress Talia Balsam. That would be over two decades ago. Their marriage lasted a mere four years from 1989 to 1993.

He has dated quite a few actresses in his lifetime, the most famous of who is Renee Zellweger. Other names in this list were Ginger Lynn Allen, Kelly Preston and Krista Allen. He had a long five year (on-again-off-again) relationship with Brit model Lisa Snowdon.

2007 saw him date reality personality Sarah Larson, but they parted ways a year later. After a two year stint with Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis, Clooney started dating former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler.

Surprisingly despite his many relationships with various women over the years, the gossip mills have often doubted the actor's sexual orientation. Which probably gained momentum after some of his controversial comments on the subject.

It was quite a surprise to many when Clooney got engaged to the high profile lawyer Alamuddin in April. It seems that the dashing star has finally found the love this his movies often have portrayed.

He is tying the knot with her soon, and the world is anticipating a lot more fireworks in Clooney's romantic tryst!
