George Clooney ‘not standing for US Presidency’

George Clooney has shot down his possible candidature for the US Presidency.

London: George Clooney has shot down his possible candidature for the US Presidency despite playing the role of a Democrat governor running for the White House in his new film ‘The Ides of March’.
Speculation ran riot that the movie hints towards his move into serious politics. But now the 50-year-old liberal has thrashed the reports declaring at the Venice Film Festival that he doesn’t want to compromise with his living. “I don’t make decisions that are life or death. If you are in power every day is a compromise,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying. “I don’t have to make decisions that affect people’s lives, If I make a mistake it’s not going to cost 100,000 people their lives. I’m very happy just telling stories,” he added. Clooney also cited President Barack Obama’s current troubles as a reason to avoid the job. “There is a guy in office who is smarter than anybody you know, nicer anyone you know, and he is having an impossible time,” he said. “Why would anyone volunteer for that? I have a nice life and have no interest in that,” he added. ANI
