`Glad my name came up`, Kamal Hassan on Padma Bhushan

The eminent actor- filmmaker Kamal Haasan has been short listed to be honoured with the third highest civilian award- Padma Bhushan. Hassan, who`s has worked in the film industry for almost five decades, had received Padma Shri in 1990.

New Delhi: The eminent actor- filmmaker Kamal Haasan has been short listed to be honoured with the third highest civilian award- Padma Bhushan. Hassan, who`s has worked in the film industry for almost five decades, had received Padma Shri in 1990. "Glad my name came up. Thank audience,mentor,all who made my workplace enjoyable," Hassan said on being the recepient of Padma Bhushan. The 59-year-old actor, who has appeared in 190 films, has worked in films of following languages-Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. From hit movies like `Sadma`, `Chachi 420` in Bollywood to `Moondram Pirai`, `Nayagan` in Tamil cinema, Hassan`s career speaks volume about his success. Apart from Hassan, classical singer Begum Parveen Sultana and Tamil lyricist-writer Vairamuthu has also been selected for the Padma Bhushan this year. (With inputs from ANI and PTI)
