Happy Birthday Saif Ali Khan!

New Delhi: The oh-so-suave 'chhotey Nawab' of Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan celebrates his birthday on August 16. Saifu ( as he is fondly called) is married to actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, and is gearing up for his upcoming release, 'Phantom' starring Katrina Kaif in the lead.

Born to famous Indian cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan and actress Sharmila Tagore, Saif entered the showbiz world with Yash Chopra's 'Parampara' in 1992. However, it was 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' and 'Yeh Dillagi' which gave him name and fame. His famous song 'Ole Ole' from 'Yeh Dillagi' made Saifu the poster boy of 90s.

But it was almost after a decade that Saif got the kind of popularity and appreciation which he deserved with Farhan Akhtar's 'Dil Chahta Hai' in 2001. This proved to be the start of his golden phase career wise. The actor was highly appreciated for his role in Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) which even won him the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Saif went on to win the most coveted National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Hum Tum (2004).

The actor is a proud recipient of the Padma Shri, which he bagged in 2010. Saif has around six Filmfare awards to his credit. He did several hit films post 'Dil Chahta Hai' but it was Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Omkara' which introduced a new Saif Ali Khan to viewers. His portrayal of Iago from Shakespeare's 'Othello' as 'Langda Tyagi' was phenomenal.

Saif was earlier married to actress Amrita Singh and has two kids—Sara and Ibrahim from her. As Saif turns 45 today, here's wishing him a happy birthday!
